On May 18, 2007, His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus, His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany and several members of the official delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia visited Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow, where the world-renowned musician Mstislav Rostropovich and first Russian President Boris Yeltsin were recently buried. The Primate of the Russian Church Abroad briefly met with their widows, Galina Vishnevskaya and NI Yelstina, and conveyed his condolences. Protopriest Victor Potapov, Rector of St John the Baptist Cathedral in Washington DC, performed brief commemorative litanies. |
