A Delegation of the Russian Church Abroad Participates In the Celebration of the Namesday of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia
On September 12, 2008, the feast day of St Christopher the Roman, His Beatitude Metropolitan Krystof of the Czech Lands and Slovakia celebrated Divine Liturgy in Dormition Church in Prague, along with His Grace Bishop Peter of Cleveland and His Grace Bishop Meletius of Hotinsk, the Rector of the church Archimandrite Sergy (Ivannikov), the clergymen of the diocese and of the delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. During the service, Bishop Peter, with the blessing of Metropolitan Krystof, ordained Subdeacon Maxim to the deaconate for the Prague Archdiocese. At the end of Liturgy, His Grace greeted Metropolitan Krystof and gave His Beatitude a portion of the holy relics of St John of Shanghai and San Francisco for Dormition Church. He also gave him a panaghia which belonged to His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus of blessed memory.
During the trapeza that followed in honor of His Beatitude, the members of the Russian Church Abroad continued their fraternal communion with the Primate of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia.
