Participants in the Confraternity of Orthodox Youth visited the Holy Shrines of Moscow
On 22 June, in Moscow's Sretensky Stavropighial Monastery, at the Divine Liturgy at which Archimandrite Tikhon (Shevkunov), the abbot of that monastery, presided, in addition to clergy of the monastery and guest priests the following clergymen of the Russian Church Abroad also took part: Protopriest Gabriel Makarov, rector of St. Nicholas Cathedral, in Brisbane, Australia; Protopriest Peter Holodny, treasurer of the Synod of Bishops; and Protopriest Andrei Somer, dean of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Sign, in New York City. Participants in the Confraternity of Orthodox Youth attended the Divine Liturgy. After the conclusion of the service, the Confraternity participants met with G. S. Poltavchenko, the plenipotentiary representative of the President in the Central Federal District, and afterwards visited the Church of Christ the Savior and the Elekhovsky Cathedral, where they venerated the relics of Saint Alexis, Metropolitan of Moscow and All russia, and chanted a memorial service at the tomb of His Holiness, Patriarch Alexis II.
