Abbess Irene of Novo-Diveevo Convent Passes Away
On Wednesday, January 8, 2014, the second day of the Nativity of Christ, the Synaxis of the Most-Holy Mother of God, Abbess Irene, who headed Novo-Diveevo Convent in Nanuet, NY, for many years, passed in the Lord. She took her original monastic vows in Harbin, China.
The funeral and burial will be performed on Friday by His Eminence Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada after the end of Divine Liturgy in the main church of the convent.
