Before the feast-day celebrations at St John the Baptist Cathedral in the nation's capital, Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York celebrated divine services on the 15th Sunday After Pentecost (photo-report)

On September 8-9, 2018, the 15th Sunday after Pentecost, two days before the feast day of St John the Baptist Cathedral in Washington, DC, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, celebrated divine services at the cathedral. After the augmented litany, as in all churches of ROCOR, a special petition was read for peace in Ukraine. His Eminence later bestowed ecclesial awards to several clergymen during the service.
