A member of the Inter-Council Presence makes three presentations at the missionary Parish of St Nektarios of Aegina in the Southeast
On September 29-30, 2018, a member of the Inter-Council Presence of the Russian Orthodox Church, Assistant Professor at Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville, Deacon Andrei Psarev, gave three presentations at the missionary parish of St. Nektarios of Aegina in Lenoir City, TN. The “Crash Courses” conducted by Deacon Andrei were devoted to the history of the Byzantine Empire, church law and the significance of the Inter-Council Presence for the Russian Church Abroad.
In his presentation on the Inter-Conciliation Presence (ICP), Deacon Andrei Psarev explained the background and appearance of this consultative asembly, outlined its structure and shared members' reflections on the ICP. The presentation was accompanied by infographic slides illustrating the history, structure and working moments of the Inter-Council Congregation.
Comprehension of the foundations of the Orthodox faith and a keen interest in the realization of the conciliar principle of the organization of church life are distinctive features of the communities consisting of Orthodox Americans who came to Orthodoxy at a mature age. The parish priest, Fr Job Watts, enriched the conversation with practical explanations.
