Bishop Job of Stuttgart visits the Parish of Tsarina-Martyr Alexandra
Three years ago, the Parish of Tsarina-Martyr Alexandra of the German Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia in Siegen, Germany, acquired a Protestant church building, located on a picturesque hill on the outskirts of town at the end of Zwingli Street. His Grace Bishop Job of Stuttgart visited the parish and officiated at its feast-day celebrations. The parishioners expressed a special devotion and love for the church and its adornment, the details of the festive divine services and the organization of a trapeza luncheon. The church edifice, constructed in the 1980’s, suits the parish’s needs very well. In order to mark the building as an Orthodox church, Vladyka Job consecrated a small cupola crowned with a cross above the entrance, and also a set of bells. Before Divine Liturgy, he ordained the choir director, Alexander Wisner, as a reader. Nine priests and two deacons were in attendance, visiting from neighboring parishes.
The celebrations ended with a concert of children singers.
