The First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad performs the last Liturgy of Pre-Sanctified Gifts of the year

On Wednesday of Passion Week, 12 April, 2023, His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, celebrated the Liturgy of Pre-Santified Gifts, the last one of this year, at the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady “of the Sign” in New York. He was joined by Archpriest Andrei Sommer, Cathedral Dean, Archpriest Serafim Gan, Chancellor of the Synod, and the Cathedral clergy to the singing of the Synodal Choir.

At the end of the service, Vladyka read the Prayer of St Ephraim of Syria for the last time.

Vladyka Nicholas then addressed the worshipers with a sermon, calling upon them to find their place in the events of Passion Week and to actively participate in the coming endearing and profound divine services, to pray and fast to worthily greet and celebrate the coming great Holiday of Pascha.
