Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York receives His Grace Bishop John of Caracas and South America

On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, received His Grace Bishop John of Caracas and South America at the former’s residence in New York.

The archpastors prayed before the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign" and discussed the positive events taking place in the life of the South American Diocese of ROCOR, and touched upon Church-wide topics.

Metropolitan Nicholas especially thanked Bishop John for his concelebration and participation in the recent celebration of the memory of St Nicholas, Archbishop of Japan, Equal-to-the-Apostles, which was held with great spiritual enthusiasm at the Synodal Cathedral.

With the blessing of the First Hierarch, during his stay in the USA, Bishop John celebrated divine services in a number of churches in the Eastern American Diocese, including the Old-Rite Church of the Nativity of Christ in Erie, PA.
