WESTERN AMERICAN DIOCESE: 27 May, 2025
The hundredth pilgrimage to Fort Ross took place in California (photo report)

On Monday, May 26, 2025, during the civil holiday of Memorial Day—a national day of remembrance observed in the USA on the last Monday of every May—Divine Liturgy was celebrated at Fort Ross National Historic Park in California. The service was led by His Grace Bishop Theodosios of Seattle, First Vicar of the Western American Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, along with local clergy.

Upon completion of Liturgy, the clergy and numerous pilgrims made a procession to the resting place of the first Russian settlers, where a memorial service was held. Then the participants of the celebrations headed to the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in Guernerville, on Russian River, where a festive meal awaited them.
