JERUSALEM: 25 May 2025 After conducting the great consecration of the church of Blessed Ksenia of St Petersburg in Methuen, MA, and the Divine Liturgy on Monday, May 26, 2025, His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, departed for the Holy Land. Welcomed at Ben Gurion Airport, His Eminence headed to the Ascension of the Lord Convent on the Mt of Olives. Here, during the feast of the Ascension of the Lord, His Eminence will officiate at festive services and will appoint a new abbess of the monastery. At a recent meeting of the Synod of Bishops held in London, Nun Judith (Zastavskaya) was designated as the new abbess of the convent. During his visit to the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, Metropolitan Nicholas will venerate the Life-Giving Tomb of the Lord and other holy sites, conduct worship services in the mission's areas, meet with His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem and All Palestine, and engage with the clergy and monastics of the mission's monasteries. |
